Having previously produced images for the UK version of ‘Design Your Jaguar’, RealtimeUK were commissioned by Global Beach to produce the imagery for the US version.

As before customers are able to view over 4,500 permutations of the Jaguar car range. These took the form of 360 degree views of all models i.e. X-Type, S-Type, XJ and XK, all model derivatives, all colours and all wheel types. The main objective was to capture the detail, quality and ‘full capability’ of the highly desirable Jaguar range.
The RealtimeUK team had already created a 3D model for each base model of each range by using supplied schematic drawings and photographic reference, and so were able to use these assets. Once approved the next step was to convert the models to US specifications. The entire range of cars then had to go through a process of lighting in the complete colour ranges.

Global Beach was supplied with renders of the complete car with the additional colour ranges and wheels which they then programmed into the ‘Design Your Jaguar’ functionality. One of the major processes of the project was the compositing of the layers to each model, as each car had over 300 layers to it when you take into account all the different colours, wheels and interior finishes.
‘Design Your Jaguar’ is the world’s first complete 3D car viewer that allows 360 degree views of every car and every variation. Never before have viewers been able to explore such an extensive number of options and then animate the car 360 degrees, all from the comfort of their own PC.

Since the launch of ‘Design Your Jaguar’ on the website, Jaguar has had an astonishing response and it is being successfully used in dealerships as a sales tool.
