Imagination, the design consultancy to Ford Motor Group, commissioned RealtimeUK to produce the 3D content for a video of the new Ford Galaxy LMV to be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2005.

The animation needed to focus on four main areas: Comfort, Versatility, Multimedia and Space, and needed to clearly demonstrate the key features which set this model apart from the competition.
RealtimeUK were provided with CAD data of the complete car from the designer which needed to be imported, optimised and textured prior to animation use. They then created a basic version of the animation to set out the movements and camera angles. The viewer is taken around the car at speed, then we zoom in on a point of interest, slowing down rapidly to focus on each of the key features.

One of the main points to communicate is the space this 7-seater affords the occupants. To demonstrate, the team at RealtimeUK created 7 distinctive 3D adult characters which would feature in silhouette so as not to distract too much from the car.
Imagination were delighted with the quality of the final animation.
