With Kinect, Microsoft's groundbreaking system that makes you the controller, now out on the high streets, we can now reveal our 8 month involvement with one of Kinect’s premiere titles - KINECTIMALS.
A team of nine high-end character animators directed by our Animation Director, Chris Fenna produced a wide range of in-game animation for this revolutionary new game. Our animators had to create engaging and charming key frame animation but still retain the physical characteristics and movement of real life big cat cubs. The animation was entirely rendered in the game engine which required extensive testing using development kits to seamlessly integrate animation sequences into the game.
We developed a close working relationship with Frontier's elite animation team which resulted in being invited to script, storyboard and animate many of the game’s cut scenes. This allowed our animators to create bespoke animations and express a wide emotional range, and the team’s skills in key-frame animation and cinematography were crucial in delivering entertaining and enthralling sequences.
