RealtimeUK is a 3D animation studio based in Lancashire, and is widely recognised for producing pre- rendered CG movies which deliver cutting edge image quality and realism.
We have worked with some of the world’s leading companies to produce high profile CG animation for major games titles, plus broadcast and digital campaigns.
Position
We are looking to expand our team with an experienced Lighting TD who has a minimum of 3 years experience within a CG related industry. The successful candidate will be a talented and creative artist with expertise in lighting, shaders, compositing and rendering.
This is a key role in our studio and will involve being responsible for helping to improve team performance and actively contribute to our innovation, ideas, and solutions. The role requires a highly motivated and committed individual who can give and take creative direction - a team player who is an all round problem solver and has incredible attention to detail.

Experience & Skills:
- Must have 3 or more years experience in CG lighting for animation, in games or television.
- 3Ds Max
- Good knowledge of rendering software , preferably Vray
- Photoshop / After Effects/Nuke
- Look development
- Shader experience
- Must have a good “eye”, the ability to notice subtle differences in lighting and rendering, and a good understanding of light, colour, contrast, shading, and lighting design
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and quality
- Must be able to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to assess and critique work
- Leadership qualities, able to deliver feedback and direct/lead their team
- Maya experience not essential but advantageous
- Generalist skills in modelling and animation would be a bonus
This is a position only for UK/EU based residents, with an immediate start date.
Selected prosects would be required to work in-house at our UK studios in the North West and be part of a highly experienced and talented tea, working on exciting, high quality projects for forward-thinking clients.
