Our Christmas do!

Last Friday (17th December) the team at RealtimeUK ventured out in the heavy snow to the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool. We had a lovely meal there, a fair few drinks and then made some pretty impressive shapes on the dance floor!

It was a great night to celebrate the Christmas holidays and I’m sure a few of us have only just recovered!

We hope you all have a great Christmas and we will see you in the New Year! Here’s a photo of the gang from the night.

Movember Celebrations

Now that Movember is over, our proud men in the office seem overly happy to be able to shave their moustaches off and go back to having “boyish young looks” – the term I’ve heard being used around the office!

A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored our team! We are very honoured to have had so many people backing us.

So here are the final photos of Movember, the men decided to go out for a celebratory meal to show off their moustaches for the last time! I’m sure you’ll be able to tell by the photos that they were proud to show them off!

Games Connection Lyon

We’ve just got back from a brilliant 3 day networking event in Lyon! From the 16th-18th November, Connection Events held their 10th edition of Games Connection Europe in Lyon/France.

The first networking event was in the evening of the 15th at a Formula 1 Simulator, which was really good fun. There were six cars in the simulator and we managed to scrape 5th position! Hey at least we didn’t lose!

We met so many people over the course of the event and we were so proud to share our hard work with everyone. Here are a couple of the photos from the event!

Day 17 of Movember

Day 17 and the RealtimeUK guys are definitely looking like well groomed gentleman!

Everyone in the office are starting to get used to the moustaches which is scary! Maybe a few of the men might decide to keep them!?

We’re so happy that so many people are helping our team to raise money for our chosen Movember charity- The Prostate Cancer Charity!! Thanks to everyone who has donated!

Kinectimals

With Kinect, Microsoft’s groundbreaking system that makes you the controller, now out on the high streets, RealtimeUK are pleased to reveal our 8 month involvement with one of Kinect’s premiere titles – KINECTIMALS.

Our team of nine high-end character animators directed by Animation Director, Chris Fenna produced a wide range of in-game animation for this revolutionary new game. The animators had to create engaging and charming key frame animation but still retain the physical characteristics and movement of real life big cat cubs. The animation was entirely rendered in the game engine which required extensive testing using development kits to seamlessly integrate animation sequences into the game.

We developed a close working relationship with Frontier’s elite animation team which resulted in being invited to script, storyboard and animate many of the game’s cut scenes. This allowed our animators to create bespoke animations and express a wide emotional range, and the team’s skills in key-frame animation and cinematography were crucial in delivering entertaining and enthralling sequences.

Disney Fab 5

Take a look at our brand new Disney Animation up on our website!

The movie was created for Disney to explore the possibilites of how the original Fab 5 could be translated into a true 3D world!

The main objectives were to establish a lighting style that is sympathetic to the orginal 2D animations with character animation that faithfully translates each character personalities from their well known 2D counterparts.

Day 9 of Movember

It’s day 9 and the moustaches are coming on well! There’s definitely a fair bit of competition going round the office on who’s moustache is growing the fastest.

We’re planning a “moutsache night out” at the end of the month so will have to order a couple of stick on moustaches for the women! It’s all for charity so please check out our sponsoring page if you haven’t done already!
